Hey Steelers fans! I am fulfilling a dream I%26#39;ve had since the early 1970s, to see the Steelers play the 49ers in PITTSBURGH! I%26#39;m a Steelers fan who grew up in San Francisco and I can%26#39;t wait! I%26#39;m coming in just for the game, but would like to get to the field early and meet some real Pittsburgh folks! Any advice???
Thanks!
Before the game on Sunday...What time is your flight? Taking a cab/taxi isn%26#39;t inexpensive but that%26#39;s what I%26#39;d do. Take a taxi from the airport to Station Square, get rowdy with all the other Steeler fans, maybe buy some Steeler ';stuff'; while you%26#39;re there. Then take the Gateway Clipper boat over to the Stadium. That way you get the awesome view of this beautiful city and you will definitly have a good time.
You don%26#39;t want to be sitting in traffic in a taxi trying to get to the stadium. You will have so much fun! Usually the driver%26#39;s carry their card, ask the driver if he can pick you up where he left you off and arrange a set time... you can expect him to be there waiting for you at Station Square after the game.
By the way, we live over in Vacaville but we%26#39;re from the Burgh, when you get back, drop me a p.m., any Steeler fan is welcome in our house! We have NFL Sunday ticket so we don%26#39;t miss any games.
Have fun!
Before the game on Sunday...Glad you%26#39;re finally coming to Pittsburgh! Tailgating isn%26#39;t what it used to be due to a variety of parking restrictions, but there are a slew of new bars in the area of PNC Park and between PNC Park and Heinz Field...Atria%26#39;s, HiTops, Finnegan%26#39;s Wake, Soho, Bettis Grille 36, Cantina Jack%26#39;s. You should find plenty of fans hanging out before the game.
In response to your other question, the bus you are looking for is the 28X Airport Flyer, and you catch it on the lower level of the airport. It will drop you off on Liberty Avenue and Sixth Street. Cross over the Sixth Street Bridge and you%26#39;ll be right in the vicinity of all the bars. Go Steelers!
Thanks to you both for the input! I%26#39;ll definitely use the advice.
