I know about the Taj Mahal on McKnight Road. Any other suggestions? Looking for a place thats a little nicer...
Need recommendations for Indian Restaurant
Try Namaste India on Banksville Road. Here%26#39;s a review from the Post-Gazette a few years ago:

and one from the Pittsburgh India site: pittsburghindia.com/namaste-india-pittsburgh鈥?/a>
I%26#39;ve only been there once, but really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.

Need recommendations for Indian Restaurant
Maybe try Tamarind Savoring India in Greentree (NOT the one in Oakland). They have very good food and the setting is nicer than Taj Mahal. Surprisingly, their lunch buffets have better food and more variety than their dinner menu. I would recommend trying it out on Saturday or Sunday lunch.
Namaste can be really good, but a couple of times I%26#39;ve had really salty dishes here. Their samosa chaat is really, really good, however. I personally didn%26#39;t care too much for Tamarind (thought it was a bit bland) but I%26#39;d give it another try and order something else. The atmosphere at Tamarind is a little nicer than Namaste (though the service at Namaste is very friendly).
My personal favorite Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh is India Garden on Atwood St.: http://www.indiagarden.net/ The food is great and it%26#39;s definitely nicer inside than Tamarind or Namaste. Unfortunately I live in the South Hills and am not in Oakland too often, but if it%26#39;s not too much of a trek for you I would definitely check it out.
Of course I HAD to find this post at 5:30... might need to get takeout from Namaste tonight. :)
My favorite is Taste of India. I think it%26#39;s around 43rd St on Penn Ave.
