Cherry Crest Farm & Shopping

We are traveling to Lancaster and Hershey in October with our boys (9 %26amp; 5). I was looking at Cherry Crest Farm%26#39;s site and it looks like alot of fun. Any comments from those who have been? Also, we don%26#39;t have to be in Hershey until 2pm so I was wondering if there were any farmers markets or nice shopping areas to visit for a couple of hours saturday morning. No outlets please.

Bird-In-Hand has a nice farmers market and directly across the street is a very large general store. Just east of there is Kitchen Kettle in the Village of Intercourse. Plenty there to keep you busy for a few hours. We haven%26#39;t been to Cherry Crest for a few years, but there is plenty to do there besides the maze.

We just went to Cherry Crest today and did the maize. The theme this year is Wild Wild West. In addition to the maize, there%26#39;s a petting area with goats, sheep, pigs, chicks, etc., a hay slide (the kids can climb a hill and slide through a tube on burlap), a jumping area for the kids, a pumpkin slingshot (it%26#39;s actually tennis balls), pedal karts, a small gift shop, and a few other things. Our daughter is 9 also and really enjoyed the maize. It takes about an hour to get through it.

Here%26#39;s a tip to get through even faster...take a picture of the map of the maize with a camera phone before going through. It was a great reference for us!

Have a great trip!
