We have one afternoon in Phila, and as luck would happen it is the Saturday after the opening of the Renoir exhibit at the Museum. I would like to fit in -- a tasty lunch/brunch, a walk that includes a campus, and 1.5 hours at the musium. Is this possible? In what part of town should I stay? Where should we eat? Which campus? Many thanks!
Help for One Afternoon At Philly Art Museum?
I am confused by your question. Why do you want to walk on a campus? If you only have one afternoon here, why do you need some place to stay? How do you know you only have 1.5 hours at the museum?
Help for One Afternoon At Philly Art Museum?
replying to question: We arrive at the airport late at night and need to be at a wedding in Fort Washington in the evening -- which is why we need a hotel for one night. As for 1.5 hours, I was taking into account how much of the day I want to spend at the museum. Thanks for the help? (Yes, want to walk through one of the campuses)
I was asking about the campus walk so I could suggest an appropriate walk. What do you want to see or experience, and how much time do you want to spend doing that?
The U Penn campus in West Philly is lovely for a stroll and you can have an excellent meal at the White Dog Cafe on the 3400 block of Sansom Street, right near the heart of the Penn campus. If you also want to walk around Center City (downtown Philly), then I suggest you stay somewhere on or near Rittenhouse Square, stroll that area a bit and then cross the Schuykill River on the Walnut Street Bridge. This will take you to the Penn Campus. The heart of the campus is Locust Walk. To figure distance allow 10 blocks to the mile. If you stay on 20th Street then Locust Walk will be about a mile and a half from your hotel.
