Thanks to all who recommended lodging for my trip. I ended up selecting the Garden Spot Motel. Neighbors of mine loved it. The price is very reasonable ($79.00). I wanted to stay at the Red Roof but they refused to honor the rates quoted in the AAA book ($59.00). They told me that ';Those'; rooms were booked.
Now that I have the lodging, where shall we eat? I am not a stranger to Lancaster. It has been years. But, I am not sure I want to pay $20.00 a meal (Miller%26#39;s).
Budget friendly but good food.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It%26#39;s not my ';cup of tea';, but many visitors enjoy the big Pennsylvania Dutch buffet at nearby Shady Maple. I think the food at Yoder%26#39;s on the east side of New Holland (rt. 23) is every bit as good, and is not quite the %26#39;feeding trough'; that you experience at SM. Also a good deal cheaper and frequented by the locals. I also affirm Dienner%26#39;s and Lapp%26#39;s.
For breakfast and lunch try The Kling House at Kitchen Kettle Village. Prices are very reasonable and food top quality and delicious. Afterwards you can stroll around this wonderful little village of country shops, and listen to Banjo Jimmy%26#39;s band - for free. . they also have several food festivals and events throughout the year. You can check out their website - www.kitchenkettle.com.
A second for The Kling House. One of my wife%26#39;s favorite places to lunch. Farm land lying between New Holland and Intercourse is rich with beautiful Amish farms. Ask backroad directions from your hotel. You will drive thru some of Lancaster County%26#39;s most beautiful farm country.

Just returned from a trip to the Amish Country. Dienner%26#39;s was our favorite. We went to Miller%26#39;s and we were totally disappointed..food at Dienner%26#39;s was just like home cooking..,Dutch...and the prices are unbeatable, compared to what we paid at Miller%26#39;s. We enjoyed so much we went back for lunch the day we were leaving.
Where is Dienners? I never heard of it.

Economical buffet eating with delicious, Pennsylvania Dutch cooking--frequented by the locals. Be aware of quirky hours--usually not open after 6 p.m., except Friday nites. Closed
Sunday. One can also order from an extensive menu. Desserts are of high quality, as well. Many return there over and over!
Dienner%26#39;s is next door to Dutch Haven...the souvenier shop with the windmill right on Rt 30...in Ronks. Don%26#39;t think you will be disappointed.
Thanks to all for your suggestions regarding dining choices.
