Hawley area

We will be a the Celebrity Resort in Hawley Sept 7 - 14 and are wondering what is of interest to see and do in the area.. Also, what restaurant experiences has anyone had? And, is there a supermarket nearby or should we try to stop somewhere on the way?

Hawley area

We are staying at the Celebrity Resort Country INN in Hawley,PA. An unique historic building 100+ years old, No elevator for second floor units. A waterfall is the backdrop of the resort, great views and photo opportunities. A CVS and IgA supermarket is a few minutes away on Rt 6. Main Street Hawley is only a few minutes drive. Resort supply a folder with all the dinning options and menus.

Walmart supercenter and shopping mall west of Hawley at Honesdale. A Poconos brochure will tell you all the places you can visit. We took a boat tour of the Lake Wallenpaupack.

Watch for the yellow Arrow sign, but follow the blue Country Inn sign to the Celebrity Resort. Turn into Castle Antique building on Rt 6.

Hawley library has six cable intenets for visitors.

Thanks for the info, Travel 317. Which restaurants have you tried and which do you recommend (or not). Can you tell me anything about that boat trip? Length of time, degree of interest?

Also I see that there is something called the Stourbridge Line Rail Excursion in nearby Honesdale. Have you tried that? What do you know aboutit?
