Going October 19 to drive 20 laps in a Nascar,birthday gift from the wife,something I always wanted to do.

So it will be me 5year old daughter and wife.

Is there anything in the area,place to stay,things to do and see,place to eat,

Any help and ideas welcome.

Driving from Pgh. area and are looking for something to do on the way back back home also,four day weekend

Pocono Racetrack is near Jack Frost/Big Boulder, and there are many things to do in that area. Surrounding that area there are many lake communities, so consider renting a house if you are going with your family - often as cheap or cheaper than a hotel, try a website that features %26#39;rentals by owner%26#39; for homes with amenities like hottubs and pool tables, and often people will offer a discount to stay in their homes if they aren%26#39;t previously rented. Close by is white water rafting (still nice in October as long as the weather cooperates), horseback riding (try Laurel Hill Stables, but there are others), paintball, and of course, hiking and biking. Depending on where you stay, try to get to Jim Thorpe Pa, a great funky little town about 20-25 minutes from the racetrack, and they usually have festivals and activities going on weekends all fall. Tannersville PA features some great outlets for shopping. We have a weekend home in that area, and absolutely love it! Good luck!
