I was looking to stay in Grove City the last weekend in October but every hotel in that area is booked. So I widened my search and found a Comfort Inn in Barkeyville. Can someone please tell me if this is an OK / safe place to stay? I just want to know what kind of reputation this place has before I stay there. Thanks for your help. I do appreciate it...

That part of Barkeyville is really just a stop for truckers off of the highway, so don%26#39;t expect any luxury - you%26#39;re looking at country and truck stop diners, fast food. My parents stayed there once during Parents%26#39; Weekend during my college days and didn%26#39;t have any complaints, but personally it wouldn%26#39;t be my first choice.
(From my husband: Be advised though that in my college days it was one of the places the frats from GCC would go so that they could party off campus. This was awhile ago, but I%26#39;d hate for you to need a good night%26#39;s sleep and be next to a rowdy frat party.)
You may be better off spreading your search out to the Mercer direction, or a B%26amp;B in the Slippery Rock area. Even Sharon might be worth the trip, depending on why you%26#39;ll be at GC in the first place. GOOD LUCK %26amp; Have a nice trip!

I just thought of something else - there%26#39;s a place right by the outlets ';The Elephant %26amp; Castle'; that I believe has rooms (they%26#39;re not listed here on Trip Advisor). You might have luck there, they%26#39;re mainly a dining place, but have to have rooms as a way to get around the liquor laws. Contacting them directly might work.
thanks buttons42. i%26#39;m actually heading to youngstown ohio for a concert- by ways of I-80. I wanted to stay about an hour from Youngstown so that my drive back on Sunday morning would be an hour shorter. (somehow I think that helps :))
Anyway, in doing research I came across Grove City and when no hotels were available there I came to Barkeyville.
So, basically what I%26#39;m looking for is a decent place (not too crazy about the truck stop idea) that is fairly close to I-80 and about an hour from Youngstown. Sorry, I have a lot of requests but that is what I need. If you can help me out again that would be GREAT. I really appreciate it.
Rozzi, it used to be a Days Inn until a year or two ago. We stayed there about 6 or 7 years ago. I would say it was average for a Days Inn. Nothing fancy, just basic. Not spotless, but OK. I don%26#39;t know how much it was fixed up since it became a Comfort Inn. It is your typical highway exit, a couple motels, restaurants , truck stop, gas.
Try the comfort inn, does anyone know what the elephant and castle inn is like? is it normal with smoking or non and tvs etc. Thanks i appreciate it
We just stayed at this Comfort Inn while driving from Michigan to NYC. It got late, and we just wanted someplace to sleep for the night and head out on our trip in the morning. It makes more sense to see it used to be a Days Inn. I was disappointed since we normally expect better from Comfort Inn. You can see it%26#39;s an older travel lodge, with outdoor access. The rooms are very small, although the furniture isn%26#39;t bad. In general, it wasn%26#39;t horrible. But we thought it was poor value since they charged us $102 for a quick overnight stay.
