1 day in Pittsburgh

My husband and I will be there for 1 day. What should we do? I know we want to go up the incline, but which one? What should we do around there?

I vote Duquesne Incline. At the top you have some great restaurants, at the bottom you have Station Square.

Station Square has a lot of nice shops, great clubs/bars/restaurants, and you can sit and watch the boats go by while having a drink.

Definately the Duquesne Incline. At the top, it is closer to more restaurants. They are mainly nicer ones, so be prepared to spend a bit more money than at Station Square at the bottom of the incline.

You could always go up East Carson street from Station Square if you want to check out South Side. There are a lot of shops, restaurants and a LOT of bars there. It will get pretty crowded on a weekend night though. It would be about 10 long blocks to from Station Square to 10th St. where the main part of South Side starts.

You might want to check out the Andy Warhol museum if you have time.

Can you recomend a nice resturant to have lunch or an early dinner. Price doesn%26#39;t matter, just looking for more than a burger.

Also do you know anything about the segway or duck tours?

These are the restauranats on Mt. Washington at the top of the Duquesne Incline.

We usually go to the Grandview Saloon (name changed now to Coal Hill Steakhouse

But the menu looks about the same and they have great outdoor seating on the cliff overlooking downtown. Very nice place.

If you%26#39;d rather have seafood, there is Monterey Bay, Georgetown Inn is a little ritzier, and Pasquarelli%26#39;s is Italian cuisine.

I would definately eat at one of these places - most of the clubs/bars/restaurants in Station Square are chains like Hooter%26#39;s, Hard Rock Cafe, and Red Star Tavern.

If price doesn%26#39;t matter and you like seafood, I would definitely vote Monterey Bay.

I don%26#39;t know much about the Segway tour, but I took 2 duck tours in the past few weeks. I would recommend it - the guides are great, and you get a pretty comprehensive view of Pittsburgh from land and water (well, as comprehensive as you can get in an hour!).

If Chihuly at Night at Phipp%26#39;s Conservatory is happening the night you%26#39;re there, don%26#39;t miss it!

The incline is a great way to see the Pittsburgh cityscape, but if you can leave that area and explore other parts of Pittsburgh, I%26#39;d suggest lunch at the Frick Cafe, on the old Frick estate in Point Breeze. It%26#39;s a real hidden gem. You can tour the mansion and/or see the art collection there, too, if you want. It%26#39;s best to reserve a day or two in advance for lunch and they also serve a very nice afternoon tea. The Phipps conservatory, where they%26#39;re holding the Chihuly exhibit that the other poster recommended, is not far by car and is also a nice thing to see.
