24 Hour Good Diner by 30th st AMTRAK station

We%26#39;re in PHilly one day for a concert. WE%26#39;re taking the last train of the night back to NYC. If we get back to station early...is there a diner within walking distance? we don%26#39;t wanna hang out at station....anyone have any ideas?

There%26#39;s really nothing around there. Plus, most, if not all of the eateries inside the station close around 8. There is a bar that will probably be open, but I don%26#39;t know if they serve food that late. 30th Street Station is pretty nice, BTW, so you may just want to hang out at the bar.

The closest all-night restaurant/diner is Midtown IV at 20th %26amp; Chestnut, which is about a 6 block walk each way, and probably not worth it.

Where are you going to see the concert? If it%26#39;s at the Wachovia Center or Lincoln Field, then take the Broad Street subway to the Snyder stop and walk over a block to 15th and Synder for the Melrose Diner, a quintessential Philadelphia experience. Or If you%26#39;re going to the Theatre of Living Arts (TLA), there is the South Street Diner on 2nd and South. So basically it will probably be easier to find a diner on the way to 30th Street Station than taking a side trip from there.

There is one resturant in the Cira Center, which is adjacent to the station. It is called Rae~

If it is not what you are looking for there are plently of great resturants/ bars close by. A cab ride back to 30th will only be a couple of dollars.

Rae is only open till 11PM.

I can%26#39;t think of anything within walking distance of 30th street station. Even the all-night food carts are gone at the post office I believe. I%26#39;d definitely consider getting something on the way to the station.

That said, the station at night is well lit, climate controlled, and the benches ain%26#39;t bad.

There are a couple of places within walking distance outside of Rae%26#39;s: Aya%26#39;s Cafe, Mama Palma%26#39;s, Bistro San Tropez, Papa John%26#39;s Pizza. Those are just not the right places in this case...

Actually, Rae%26#39;s Lounge is open for drinks after 11:00... It is just dinner that stops being served.

They are looking for an all-night place, so I suspect they plan of being there raher late after the concert. All the places you mentioned close by 10 or 10:30, at least according to their web sites (same with Rae, BTW).

Actually, we really do need to know what time they are figuring on and what the concert venue is. There could be other options...

Last Amtrak train out on weekends is 12:00 AM.

As stated, those places ( other than Rae) around there are not ideal for what they are looking for ~ I just mentioned them because Loonbeam said there was nothing in walking distance.

Rae stops seating, not closes at 11:00.

It%26#39;s not fancy, but maybe the Cherry Street Tavern is a possibility?
