Any decent lunch places on the way to Fallngwater?

Hi,

A group of us are taking a trip to Fallingwater in Mill Run, PA in early October. Does anyone know of any nice, sit-down restaurants on the way from Pittsburgh where we can get lunch? We don%26#39;t mind going a few miles off-route, but not too far. Three of our party will be vegetarians, so we have to find a place that has decent veg options. Also, has anyone eaten at Fallingwater Cafe?

Thanks

nabq

I%26#39;m not too familiar with the area so I can%26#39;t recommend anything on the way from the city, but this link

lists some items from the Fallingwater Cafe and there are veggie options.

Enjoy your trip!

Nemacolin Woodlands is a fancy resort about 11 miles from Fallingwater with several very good (and pretty expensive) restaurants. I would say this would be worth the detour, if you have time. You can read about it on TripAdvisor, also check out their website at www.nemacolin.com.

I ate at the Fallingwater Cafe a couple years ago, after a major renovation, and it wasn%26#39;t terrible but it wasn%26#39;t a really good meal either.

Fallingwater is so spectacular that you%26#39;ll want a really good meal to keep the tone high. Live fabulously, if only for the day!

Try Caileigh%26#39;s Restaurant in uniontown on rt 40. About 10-15 miles from fallingwater. The owner was named PA restauranter of the year in %26#39;05. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored coal baron home. It%26#39;s my favorite place to eat in the area.

This would be a little road trip in addition to your road trip, but since you mention vegetarian, Maggie%26#39;s Mercantile, a vegetarian restaurant, is in Somerset.

I was just in the Ohiopyle/Fallingwater area last weekend and it is beautiful.
