I just got reservations for Club Quarters in Phili. thru priceline. I%26#39;ve read some of the reviews and am a little apprehensive. Number one, the rooms sound very small, and choice of queen bed or two singles, some without a window. Secondly, parking is off site with no in and out priveledges. How can this be labeled a 3 star+ hotel? Any personal experiences recently??
Club Quarters experiences??More info needed....
Why will you have a car? It is generally not needed or desired in town. What is the purpose of your visit- business or pleasure? That location is better suited to business, though not terrible for pleasure.
Club Quarters experiences??I will have a car since I am on a two week vacation going from Vermont, Quebec, Ottawa, Niagara, Buffalo, Lancaster County then on to Philadelphia. I was going to return the car at the airport on the day of our departure. Would you advise dropping the car off early on my arrival to Philadelphia? Can I take public transportation to all the historic sites as well as the markets and cheesesteak diners? I don%26#39;t know how much it would cost to get transportation back to the hotel in Philadelphia after dropping off the car at the airport as well as the cost to return to the airport when I am leaving. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you for your response.
You will not need the car in Philadelphia, so returning it on arrival is a good idea. Everything you will want to visit is within walking distance or accesible by public transportation. You can take a train from the airport into Center City . The fare recently went up, but I think it%26#39;s still only about $6.50. You would get off at the Suburban Station, which is close to your hotel. (Check with your car rental company to see if you can return your car to the train station, which would be even more convenient.)
You can return your car in town. You really will not need it- it will just be a burden and an added expense. You can either walk, or take public transit everywhere if you don%26#39;t feel like walking. The fare to the airport varies, depending on rush hour or not, and if you buy the tickets on the train or not. Figure somewhere between $6.50 and $8.00 per person. Or, you can take a cab for about $27.00.
I stayed at Club Quarters a few summers ago for just one evening. Yes, the room was fairly small, but fine for just my husband and myself. I do recall having a window in the room, though. More of the issue was the bathroom - it was tiny, just a toilet, sink and a shower stall (no tub) and there was no room to move around whatsoever. However, I think it is fine for one or two people who wouldn%26#39;t be spending a lot of time in the room, but I wouldn%26#39;t bring my family with kids here - not enough amenities. Also, I remember It was clean and had a microwave and a fridge in the room as well. Location is good, you are near lots of restaurants, etc...
I agree with others, dump the car while you are in Philly - you will not need it.
Good luck and let us know if you have further questions.

I stayed at Club Quarters this past weekend, and I have stayed there many times in the past. The rooms are teeny-tiny, but adequate unless you plan to spend your whole trip in the room. I had a single room with a large bed, closet, desk, chair, TV, alarm clock with radio, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was not carefully designed (when you raise the toilet seat, it hits the edge of the countertop), but functional. Plenty of hot water. Room was quiet and clean. Lobby staff were pleasant. Excellent neighborhood--very safe, centrally located for downtown offices and sightseeing, and convenient to the train from the airport. You should be fine there.
