PHL - car rental - pickup desk?

Flying international into PHL, arriving with US Airways at one of the A-gates I believe. Never flown to PHL before. Have pre-booked a Dollar rental car for collection at the airport.

So my question is: Do the rental companies have their desks within the airport (with cars in an airport carpark), or are we looking to find a shuttle-bus to an off-site depot?

Thanks ... Nev%26#39;7

PHL - car rental - pickup desk?

It%26#39;s sort of both. The airport is so large that although the rental car lots are on-site, they pick you up in a shuttle to take you to the lot. Here is a link that will help:

PHL - car rental - pickup desk?

Thanks Owlyn. I%26#39;d actually looked at PHL%26#39;s site, but it spoke about going to ';Zone 2'; without explaining what zone 2 actually was - a bus pickup, a carpark area ... couldn%26#39;t find it on their terminal map.

So I%26#39;m guessing I have to use Dollar%26#39;s phone from arrivals, call them to let them know I%26#39;ve landed, and then hunt for their bus to get to the airport lot.

Thanks for your response. Any other info gratefully received.

Well, I don%26#39;t know what Zone 2 is either, and I%26#39;ve been to the airport many times. I think it%26#39;s where the shuttle buses pick you up. I%26#39;m sure there are courtesy phones. Oh, you may have a REALLY long walk, so don%26#39;t be surprised if it turns out that way. Just our little way of getting your land legs back :)

Outside of each arrivals terminal, each sidewalk area is broken up into Zones. 2 is for rental car shuttles, 3 hotel shuttles, I think. Either way, after your bag finally emerges from baggage claim and you clear customs, just look for signs above the exit doors for zone 2, then follow the pole signs.
