Young Children & Hershey

Is Hershey an appropriate place for a weekend trip with two small children (ages 2 1/2 %26amp; 9 mos)? I would like to take them to Hershey for the Christmas attractions this winter, but I%26#39;m afraid they will be too young to enjoy any of it.

Most of the rides that are open during Hershey%26#39;s Christmas Candy Lane are kiddie rides so you should be fine. They would also enjoy Chocolate World.

Your kids will be fine at Christmas. There are plenty of kiddie rides, and they can also visit with Santa and see the reindeer. I wouldn%26#39;t recommend Hershey for children this age when it%26#39;s regular season. I would, however, recommend Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster. It%26#39;s very nice for the younger set and has more rides that cater to them. They are also open at Christmas, but I%26#39;ve never been. My daughter is unfortunately getting too old for Dutch Wonderland.

If you do go to Hershey for Christmas, I would also recommend the Sweet Lights drive. It%26#39;s behind the Hershey Hotel (or Lodge??), and it%26#39;s a nice drive with thousands of lights. Really pretty. I would also go as early in the ';season'; as possible,as you will most likely have more comfortable temps.

Have a great trip.

Hershey in the summer and Hershey at Christmas are night and day. I would never take a 2 1/2 %26amp; 9 month old to Hershey in the summer. It would be a waste of time. Christmas however will be perfect. They will love the lights and the vast majority of rides open during candyland are kiddie rides. Your 2 1/2 year old will love it. Your 9 month old? Probably not as much. Just make sure you bring a stroller and bundle up.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I have decided that the trip will be a GO. Now on to the next dilemma--Hershey Lodge or Hotel Hershey???

You will love Hershey park!!The main reason we started going there was because they have so much for younger children.Never been during winter, but I%26#39;am sure you will have a blast.

I would go to Hershey Lodge. We have stayed there twice - once during Christmas time, and it was GREAT!. It is over $100 a night cheaper than the Hotel Hershey, and in my opinion, more kid friendly.

Wherever you go, have fun!!!
