I thought some of you might be able to give opinions on Cape May restaurants. I also posted this on the Cape May Forum.
My family will be in Cape May to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We appreciate good food and don%26#39;t mind spending more for it. The catch: we will have an energetic toddler in our group of ten. Any suggestions for a family friendly restaurant with really good food?
Thanks, Lynn

An update:
My sister was given these suggestions by someone at the Cape May Chamber of Commerce:
La Verandah
Oyster Bay Steak %26amp; Seafood
The Pier House at Water%26#39;s Edge
Any thoughts?

We ate outside at La Veranda for breakfast last year. We thought it was pretty bad. Staff was rude and the food was not as good as Denny%26#39;s.
Lobster House would fit the bill. Lots of boats for the young one%26#39;s attention and pretty decent food., it%26#39;s just over the bridge at the end of the Parkway. It%26#39;s connected to a marina. In N Cape May there%26#39;s Harpoon Henry%26#39;s that is right across the street from the bay (near the ferry terminal). Indoor %26amp; outdoor seating and a Key West bar atmosphere. Good burgers, finger food and unimpressive entrees but great atmosphere, terrific sunsets and plenty of running around space (they have a sand court where youngsters sometimes congregate for a soccer game)
A family friendly resturant that we love is Lucky Bones. Owned by the people of Washington Inn. Great pizza, sandwiches %26amp; entrees. Quality of food ( especially Filet) is outstanding. You will see lots of families around.
Also, the Blue Pig at Congress Hall is family friendly too.
Never been to Lucky Bones, but if its the Washington Inn folks it HAS to be decent...
Thanks, everyone, for your responses. We%26#39;re still working on this.

Lynn, there are so many wonderful places in Cape May, so I am sure you will find something that works for you and your family. If you don%26#39;t, there is the most fantastic resturant that is located on Route 9 in Clermont called Karen %26amp; Rei%26#39;s. Steaks are from Nebraska, always very unique fish on the menu ( Opah, John Dory to name a few) and the deserts are out of this world. I thought of this because they do have a private room upstairs for large parties of 8 or more. We have dined up there and you are definitely away from the other diners ~ might work with a child.

Heather,
Thanks for the tip. I went to the website and liked the menu. About how long a drive is it from Cape May to Karen and Rei%26#39;s?
Lynn
You should easily be able to do it in under 20 minutes. They are not too far off of 9 from the Avalon exit on the GSP ( exit 13).
