We would like to combine a trip to visit family in Kutztown with a visit to one of the parks, Hersey or Sesame. Our girls are 9,6 and 2. We woould need a hotel. What would be our best bet as to where to stay? I%26#39;m thinking visit family on Sunday, visit the park on Monday (less crowded I sassume?). Can anyone give me pointers?
Kutztown visit, help needed
You don%26#39;t tell us how long you will be in the area. A third possibility would be to visit Dorney Park in Allentown. It is actually closer to Kutztown. See www.dorneypark.com. If you decide on this option, there is a very nice Wingate Inn near the park which is reasonable and would be ideal for a family.

I will look at Dorney, thanks. A friend also suggested Knoebles as a nearby alternative. We are driving from Binghamton and would just be spending one night.
Thanks!
I also thought about Knoebel%26#39;s, but assumed it was too far from Kutztown. Actually, it would be on your way home, in Elysburg, PA, near route 80. Their website is www.knoebels.com. This park is ideal for children of the ages in your family, and is far more reasonable than the parks previously mentioned. It is more of an old-time amusement park with a family atmosphere. You can take food into the park and lunch at the picnic tables. Parking is free. It may be a consideration!
What about Dutch Wonderland? It looks to be an hour from Topton, a little pricier than Knoeble%26#39;s but maybe more tot centered.
If we did that, I can look for a hotel anywhere from Kutztown to Lancaster. If it%26#39;s a bad weather day, we could do the trains I believe. Does this sound reasonable? Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

I suggest Hershey Park as PA schools open to students on Monday, 8/27. In Hershey, if I could afford it, I would stay at the Hershey Lodge. Good food, excellent service. If I had tons of money, I would stay at the four star Hotel Hershey.
Sesame place has to many pushy, ';helicopter'; parents who hover over their kids, shoving their kids ahead of yours, etc.
