Car rental deal

I just booked a compact car thru Alamo%26#39;s web site for a 3 day trip to Philly in mid October. The rate including taxes was $60.00 and they let me use a coupon to shave the price to $41.00 for three days, not per day, but $41.00 for the entire 3 days.

This sounds too good to be true, but I printed my reservation confirmation. Does anyone have experience with Alamo rental in Philly? I have used Alamo in other cities and they were as good as any as far as I am concerned.

Wondering also, przyk. We%26#39;ve used Alamo many locations but Philly rate was 1/2 all others for full-size for 2-weeks ($425 w/taxes/fees). We%26#39;re booked and confirmed but makes you question and hope for no surprises but we%26#39;ve never had them before with them. Hope you get responses to query.

Only complaint with Alamo in Philly that I have heard is that their bus ride from the terminal is the longest and slowest and their checkin is also slow. Allow a few extra payments and I don%26#39;t see any problems.

Mid Oct is a fairly slow time here, if that%26#39;s for a weekend, I wouldn%26#39;t be surprised.

It may be worth joining their ';club';. I assume Alamo has one as other companies do. Sometimes you can skip the line if you are a member of the club.

I could see if you weren%26#39;t picking it up at the airport and if it was a weekday, then $41 sounds plausible. Was the coupon a frequent renter coupon, and they are taking a hit as a thank you, or a rewards membership?

It is just a coupon form an ';Entertainment'; book. I don%26#39;t know if you are familar with this, but in Milwaukee and many cities around the US these boooks are sold as fund raisers and include local dining discounts plus some national coupons for car rentals and stores.

We used an entertainment book coupon a few years ago for Alamo and got some crazy-good deal as well. We were in Florida and I forget the exact rate, but I know my husband was shocked (in a good way!) that it was so cheap. Let us know how you make out.

I will post back after my trip. As I said my experience with car rental companies in other cities is that they are all pretty much alike in terms of service. You might get good or bad service at any of them.

I have learned to keep checking as rates change often going down closer to the rental date. I don%26#39;t think I will bother looking for a reduction from what I have in this case though.
