Doubletree or Hilton

Am planning a romantic night with hubby. Have read some dismal reviews of the Hilton since it is under construction. We have Hilton Honors points, so want to stay at one of their properties. Any thoughts? Pros/cons of two properties?

Doubletree or Hilton

I always stay at the Hilton when we go for a night on the town. How bad can it be, the Steelers players stay there when they have home games.

Never been to the Doubletree so I can%26#39;t help you with that one.

Last time we stayed in the city was last summer.

Have you thought about using your points at the new Hampton Inn in the Strip District? It%26#39;s brand new and get%26#39;s great reviews on this site. It%26#39;s also very close to some great restaurants!

thanks everyone. heathery - are you in rockville maryland? we are in howard county! i was born and raised in pittsburgh, but have only stayed in a hotel when i got married there!! thanks for the advice.

I have stayed at the Doubletree a couple times and it is very nice.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. We are going to try the Hampton. Usually can%26#39;t go too wrong with a brand new hotel! Free parking and b-fast is also a plus. I will let you know how our stay was.

This is a late post for BWI mom -- I%26#39;m interested to hear how your stay was at the Hampton. I am indeed in Rockville, Maryland. Lived in Pittsburgh most of my life, moved to the DC area four years ago. I find a LOT of Pittsburghers and Steelers fans in this area!

I tryed to make my Hilton Honnors points effective on the Hampton Inn Strip for the Seahawks game (OCT 7 Weekend) But I was unable because the hotel has been added to the group recently and the website and the phone line says is not available yet. Then I will stay at Doubletree. The Hilton has Hhonors blackout for that weekend.

Good luck.

I am currently staying in the Hilton now and I must say that the room accomidations are less then acceptable for a Hilton and I would sugest going to the Hapton Inn also. One good things about this hotel though is that the staff is trying to compensate for the lack of accomidations through their customer service.
