Good hotel in Mechanicsburg

We will be traveling to Messiah College for a soccer tournament next weekend, September 7, and would like some recommendations for hotels in the area. Someone gave me a list with several hotels that are near the college, but I%26#39;m not having much luck finding reviews on them. I%26#39;m thinking about maybe the Hampton Inn Harrisburg or Best Western Plantation Inn or Wingate Inn. If anyone has stayed at one of these or knows of someplace decent, please let me know. I%26#39;m also interested in how the free continental breakfast is. Thanks.

There is a new Courtyard by Marriott that just opened this spring that might be worth checking out. The Country Inn %26amp; Suites next door is fairly new and offers a free breakfast each morning. Either one would be a good choice. Of the hotels you mention, I would suggest the Wingate by Wyndham (the new name for Wingate Inns). Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

I have often stayed in this area for business. The BW Plantation Inn is not your first choice!! Breakfast is typically a box of donuts, coffee, and juice. Furnishings badly need some updating. I stayed one time in November with heat not working--you get the picture!!

My recommendations would be:

*Homewood Suites - Harrisburg West';

This place is incredibly clean and well-managed.

Breakfast includes both hot and cold items.

This will not be your cheapest stay in the area, however.

*Wingate Inn - Harrisburg West';

Very convenient to Messiah College. Nice indoor pool

and whirlpool. Delicious waffles at breakfast. Ask for

a room away from the turnpike side. If making

reservations with Wingate at toll-free number, make

sure to repeatedly specify WEST location. More than

one guest has been booked for the wrong site!

Cracker Barrel next door!

*Hampton Inn - Mechanicsburg/Camp Hill

Clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning.

Be sure to have lunch at Isaac%26#39;s, a local chain next door.

*Country Inn %26amp; Suites - Haven%26#39;t stayed there personally, but

reviews are good.

Avoid Plantation Inn (as noted above) and Ramada Limited (which is listed as Mechanicsburg but is really a good haul from the college; service leaves something to be desired). Also, Econolodge (cheap prices but old furnishings and not the cleanest--breakfast is minimal).

GO FALCONS!!

Forgot to mention that the Wingate and Hampton Inn (others also, possibly?) offer discounts for those involved in activities at Messiah College. It%26#39;s worth mentioning when inquiring about their rates!
